GET INVOLVED

There are many ways to support your community rescue beyond adoption and donations. You can volunteer your home or your time.

Our foster program allows Flying B Rescue to save more animals beyond what we can care for in-house. Pets that experience foster care are often better socialized and adjusted when they go to their forever home.

We always need volunteers to walk dogs or take dogs for Doggy Day Outs (DDO). If you've ever wanted a dog just for a day, DDO is a wonderful experience for you and the dog.

FOSTERING SAVES LIVES

Fostering a dog is a rewarding experience that helps save lives! While specific requirements may vary by dog, here are the general things needed to foster:

Basic Foster Requirements

  • Age – Fosters must be at least 18 years old and have permission from their landlord (if renting).

  • Safe Home – A secure home where the foster dog will be loved, cared for, and kept safe. A fenced yard is helpful but not always required.

  • Time and Commitment – The ability to provide food, exercise, socialization, and basic training. Foster periods can range from a few weeks to a few months.

  • Transportation – The ability to bring the dog to vet appointments, adoption events, or meet-and-greets.

  • Other Pets & Family Members – Willingness to introduce the foster dog properly to existing pets and ensure a good fit.

What We Provide

  • All food and supplies

  • Preventive and veterinary care

  • Support and guidance

Fostering is free—your love and time are the biggest gifts you can give! Interested? Apply today!

DOGGY DAY OUT

First and foremost, THANK YOU for considering a gift of your time to our rescue dogs! By taking them out for just a few hours a day, our temporary residents can exert pent-up energy as well as be mentally stimulated by new experiences and people!

As a result of a Doggy Day Out, our dogs are less anxious or exuberant when they meet potential adopters, and they gain useful life skills that they wouldn’t get from just sitting and waiting in rescue. Another added bonus is that people who are not likely to find us are still able to see our available pups!

GENERAL VOLUNTEER

Before we bring dogs to adoption events, a lot of time and resources are required to get the dogs ready.

Animal Care Support: We need support with animal care as it's vital to the health and well-being of the animals here. Volunteers will help with keeping our kennels and animals clean. Yep, this job includes scooping poop, giving baths, and wrangling dogs for nail trims.

Adoption Event Support: We also need folks willing to manage dogs at adoption events. We show off our dogs crate-free so that potential adopters get the full meet-and-greet experience. We always have a 1:1 volunteer to dog assignment for events. Transporting the dog to and from events and managing the dog during the event is always needed.
